I pull into the parking lot this morning to see Laetner’s vehicle, but no Laetner, and another vehicle with 2 people milling around it. I knew Laetner was on the track and I wondered if the other 2 were FNG’s. Well turned out they weren’t FNG’s but 2 kids form...

Ten men gathered in the gloom at Rotary Park to get stronger and better while pushing themselves to work harder. The weather was DB perfect with little wind and clear skies. . At just a few minutes past 5, while parked near the basketball courts YHC noticed a...
Livin’ On a Prayer
I showed up at the pier this morning with my 2.0 in tow to find Laettner, RuPaul, and Ladybug already there. We also discovered that Bogue Inlet Pier is the busiest place in Carterico at 5:15 on a nice fall morning. With multiple vehicles streaming in, Vice and...
Hole In The Kettle Convergence
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ0-3S_LwfA 28 gathered this morning at the college for a convergence of two very different types of workouts. Doublemint had a great idea that each group should see how the other half lives on Wednesday mornings. With no FNGs in...
VQ Round Up
One day, about 16 weeks ago, I was slowly running home on the final mile of a long hot training run. Tired from the heat and lack of enthusiasm, I wondered if there was a better way to stay in shape. As the good Lord has sent many winks through the years, on this day...
10/3/17 DREADNOUGHT
YHC showed up at 0500 for the standard Misty rolled in right behind me. We waited on the other HC but Crabby never showed we logged around 2.5 making it back 0520. Everyone showed up ready to work the 2 min and 1 minute warning was given still no Crabby SMH. Squid...

The Blart bait and switch
YHC received a message from Blart on Thursday if I would CoQ because he something special planned, I said sure with excitement. Next day he notified me that he had to work and could I do it on my own. I said of course I will, so the bait and switch went off without...
10/2 Table Setter BackBlast
2 degrees! Just 2 more degrees down on the ole Mercury and YHC would’ve posted in his man tights. But rules are rules and sadly it was shorts only weather in the gloom this morning. In all 16 HIMs, 5 Respects, men of action, and veterans of Carterican workouts...
Band of Brothers change of venue backblast
YHC was pleased to be back on the Q for the Bands today. Fearing a few may not have read the pre- blast indicating a change of the AO, I looped around by Shevans to look for stragglers. It appears the AO change was a good idea because waiting for us at the picnic...
A House is Built with 2x4s
A pax of 15 gathered on the grounds of WCHS. YHC figured that the crowd would be thin due to a western migration of Wolfpackers headed to the City of Oaks and a group of ballers hitting up the chum run. Ole Doublemint got two holes punched on his man card and double...
Introducing the crowd pleaser, 4x4s and the torture circle
On my way to the AO, YHC passed Monkey Wrench getting in a Brandywine standard. Respect! With the flag planted beside a blacked out Jeep Cherokee that parked like a jerk beside the entrance to the parking lot, I waited for the pax to show up in the gloom. As they...
