A group of men assembled this morning for the weekly meeting at Brandywine. Temperature was perfect and so was the mission statement. A short mosey across the way lead to an open field for some warmarama. Looking to switch up the normal rotation, YHC started with 10 Deadlift Squats (deadlift without the bar), followed by 10 Deadlift Squats including a calf raise with hands/arms stretched above head. So far so good, now add alternating hand to opposite toe at the bottom of the squat x 10 and finally add alternating lunges x 10. Turned out to be a pretty good warmup.

Next up, 11s down the sidewalk along 24 stopping at each light pole. First pole, assume the plank position and bring your left knee to your left elbow; then bring your right knee to your right elbow 10 times. Second pole 2 on the left, 9 on the right. So on and so on til we reached the other side of Village Green. 5 burpees OYO.

Same thing on the way back except cross your body with the knee (right knee to left elbow). 5 more burpees OYO. The sweat was really starting to fall now so what do you do? Step it up! Merkins and Plank Jacks were next at each pole same as before. 5 burpees was the reward for completing round three.

To catch our breath, we jogged into the neighborhood and then did Blart’s walking indian run til we got to the mailboxes, turned left and headed for the third biggest hill in carteret county. Bear crawl up and over was called. Okinawa took off up the hill so fast, his momentum literally carried him up, through, and over the shrubs and all the way down the other side without touching the ground. WOW, you had to be there to believe it. The rest of us crawled up and over and down the other side back to the field were it all began.

Another set of 11’s was called, again in the plank but kick your leg back then bring your knee to your nose then merkin. After a demonstration and a realization that that’s really hard, we omaha’d to 6’s for the first half and 6’s for the second half of the light poles. Reaching the other end, 5 more burpees to everyone’s delight.

We did one more walking indian run through the hood and again scaled the hill. This time crawl bear was the method and time expired.

A few announcements were declared about this weekends activities and prayer requests were shared.

Kiwi took us out in the COT.

YHC really enjoyed it this morning. Hope you guys did too. Thanks for hanging in there and showing up. Always a pleasure to SYITG
