The Brandywine mile consists of a 3 mile loop around the Brandywine housing development and golf course off of HWY 24 in MHC. The PAX and I would take off this morning with an extra challenge. Since we had PAX that wanted to be there but couldn’t because of various reasons it was decided we would carry them along with us in spirit. So, in addition we brought along two rucksacks weighing approximately 30lbs which we would share and trade off along the way. The workout started with the standard introduction welcoming PAX to the HASHMARK and the mission and principles of F3..
Then we Mosy’d to the first stop sign for”
Warmerama:
10 X SIde Straddle Hops IC
10 X Good Mornings IC
10 X Cotton Pickers IC
10 X Sun Gods F & R IC
Right or over Left stretch, Left over right stretch.
The Thang:
The original plan for the “Thang” was to run the Brandywine mile(approximately 3 miles) stopping at each speed bump for a circuit of exercises. The extra challenge would be to carry with us our PAX that couldn’t be there. Our extra PAX members would be in the form of two rucksacks with approximately 30lbs.
At each speed bump the PAX as a group would do the following set of exercises, then trade off extra weight and head to the next speed bump.
Starting at the first one, and adding an additional 1 count at each speedbump.
- 10 X Peter Parkers IC
- 10 X Carolina Wine Mixer IC
- 10 Merkins OMD
- 10 X Overhead circles IC
THIS of course was the original plan. However Brandywine has a LOT of Speed bumps. After about third one and about a mile into the route I realized that I was going to have to alter this plan in order to get the PAX back to the Flag in time. So, instead of doing the whole set of exercises we would only do one, and rotate at the next speed bump. This was working until about the 15th speed bump when we had to just to ban the plan and make a dash to get back in time. Well a dash isn’t really a dash when your humping an extra thirty pounds, but we did roll back to the beginning with about 15 seconds to spare.
Announcements were given, Prayer requests were made, and Griswold led us out in Prayer.
Sincere thanks to all that came to Hashmark. I enjoyed your company, and look forward to SYTIG.
