• When: 3/16/20
  • Workout Style: Bootcamp
  • QIC: Griswold
  • PAX: Bandit, mayo, bopeep, Pasqually, Newman, tonya, Kiwi, Ron Burgundy (respect), Denver, Blart (respect), Birdman, she bangs, Ricardo, Griswold QIC
  • AO: Ft. Benjamin Park, Knarr

The Q arrived early for some recon and to set a few coupons. He couldn’t help but notice two vehicles parked in the dark corner of the parking lot with some movement and lights on. It was either a Newport drug deal or some form of prostitution, so it didn’t look like a good time to EH anyone. Although, Denver did make the attempt to EH them after the work out… What a great site Q!

We started our countdown from three minutes, and Ron Burgundy had already started what Ron Burgundy does best, run his mouth. After a quick mission statement and disclaimer, warmarama consisted of: girl fights, Willie Mays Hayes, Frankenstein‘s, and hillbillies. We also did 5 burpees for Pasquale’s 30 seconds of tardiness (I know, that makes no sense).  We then ran a lap around the building to hide from the Wind on the back deck. We partnered up for a “no touching” partner exercise: 10 LBC’s, while partner 2 plank holds, and then flip-flop until reaching 100 reps. One lap around the building. Next was partner 1: 10 Merkens, partner 2: plank hold, and then flip-flop to 100. One lap around the building. Next was a 4 x 4 x 4 with plank jacks. It was at this point that Birdman started complaining about everything, and he never stopped until the end of the workout. Pasqually couldn’t figure out how to count to 4, so we just gave up and moved on. Another lap around the building to the picnic shelter. We ran 11s with Bobby Hurley‘s and prisoner ups. Between each set was an up and over a pair of picnic tables. Newman and his long legs lapped everybody a few times so we Omaha’d and ran around the building again. This time we stopped at the parking curbs for plank step ups, Urkins, AMRAP curb taps, and curb squat jumps. We then ran a pallet cleanser lap around the parking lot and repeated that 4 exercise cycle in all four directions including uneven Merkins and uneven squats. Time was running short to make use of some coupons, and more pax showed up today than the Q expected, So we Omaha’d with partners on each coupon. Station one was 15 Merkens while partner 2 planked, flip-flop and repeat.  Station 2: bicep curls, 3: skull crushers, 4: goblet squats.  Time ran out before we could get through two rounds of the circuit, so back to the flag for a HS.

After a count-off and namearama, a few announcements were made about how we could help feed kids during this “out of school” time in Morehead city as well as backpack friends in Swansboro. We went out in prayer for strength and guidance to be the man that the Lord designed us to be, as well as for our leader’s decision making with what’s happening in the world right now.

I always learn a few things when I post in the beautiful metropolis of Newport… Apparently the dark corners of Fort Benjamin is a great place for illegal activities where Police never patrol in the dark at 5:00 AM. Apparently Birdman is obsessed with FIA workouts and may actually quit F3 and start posting with the girls. Also, Ron Burgundy has calluses built up on his knees for some reason 🤷‍♂️, and will probably get some form of tendinitis in his jaw from overuse.  Besides that, it was great to meet a couple guys that I’ve only seen on Slack.  I enjoyed the morning, thanks for the opportunity Denver!
