YHC was excited that Squid saw fit to tap me for a second Hashmark Q.  YHC still has fond memories of my first Hash early on in my F3 experience. Holiday Mansion humbled me that morning with a tour around the loop.  YHC expected that the 27 degree weather would keep numbers low but thanks to Pillbox calling a Mullet Wrapper/Hashmark convergence and the fortitude of the hearty Eastern Pax 11 men materialized out of the gloom.

Fist bumps, countdown and flawless mission statement over we got straight to the secondary mission of the day, getting warm fast and then staying that way.  In order to accomplish that goal, YHC decided to forgo the normal circle and opt for a rolling warm-o-rama.  We headed out the gate and over Hwy 24 (aided by Poca’s 72,000 lumen headlamp) towards the Marina on the sound side.  Along the way we completed carioca, high knees, butt kickers, toy soldiers and backwards mosey.  When we reached the parking lot we finished our warm up with some imperial squat walkers until we reached the entrance to the marina.

First up were three rounds of Rocky Balboa’s in cadence on the knee wall along the ramp and alternating wheel barrow-toe touchy-on the wall things along the retaining wall in cadence (I stole these from Griswold but don’t remember the name). After that brief visit we moseyed out to the main entrance road for…

THANG 1:  To misquote a line from the movie Mean Girls, “Get in Loser, we’re going for a BLIMPS ride“.  YHC knew it was going to be cold and wanted to keep the Pax in motion. Consequently, I decided to combine a standard BLIMPS workout with a loop run.  We set out around the loop, using Cedar Dr, Pine Bluff Dr, and Core Dr, stopping at intervals to complete the BLIMPS. B=5 burpees OYO, L=10 lunges each leg (replaced by thigh burners which Squid seemed to really like), I=15 Imperial Walkers in cadence, M=20 single count merkins, S=30 squats, P=25 Plank Jacks in cadence.  Thank you to Ricardo for pointing out the YHC can’t spell. We finished up the loop and stopped just short of the main entrance for…

THANG 2: Pax paired up.  P1 would run through the BLIMPS circuit while P2 ran a short loop around the patio homes on Bay Club Circle. Tag, switch, rinse and repeat until each Pax had run the loop three times.  After this we had just enough time to head back across Hwy 24 for a quick round of Batwings at the intersection behind the entrance: 20 Moroccan Nightclubs IC (Monkey Wrench’s enthusiasm made it obvious that he has spent some time in a Marrakesh discotheque), 20 seal claps IC, 20 overhead claps IC, 20 air presses IC.  By the end our shoulders were smoked and Madoff relayed that he was happy he had “taken care of business” last night.  I guess he took some financial advising work home with him – what a professional!

A short mosey back to the flag and a few rounds of dealer’s choice Mary finished off our 2.25 mile morning jaunt.  Wikipedia, the source of all of YHC’s knowledge, indicates that BLIMPS rely on the pressure of internal gas for their strength.  Pax, being the intelligent and well informed bunch that they are, must have known that they needed to retain the source of their internal strength throughout our BLIMPS ride. However, as we moved through Mary, someone behind me released a significant amount of that “internal pressure” creating a somewhat noxious breeze.

Announcements – check slack for workouts. Praise for pillbox for completing the workout without passing a kidney stone. Prayer requests for individuals and families and friends (bee sting, navy, lassie, couch potato, pillbox, poca). Kiwi took us out in the BOM with heartfelt words of thanks and praise.

What a great way to start the day and the weekend.  Thanks to all the Pax who posted this morning in the freezing cold gloom. Thanks to Squid for trusting me with the keys.  It was an honor and a pleasure to be given the opportunity to lead the finest men Carterico has to offer.

Not one Cooter joke in the whole back blast.

Navy, Out.
