YHC has always enjoyed to Q the Slick Cam, that uniquely Carterican experience of a beatdown involving sand, surf, pier pilings, and a health dose of onlookers wondering what the heck we are up to.  Knowing that the prior Friday night involved a considerable amount of revelry the expectations for PAX attendance where considerably lower than would otherwise be expected, however I was not disappointed in the strong group of HIM that made the mosey down to the Dunes Club.

The morning went down as follows:

Disclaimer delivered and the PAX ready to roll we broke out in a quick mosey under the Dunes Club and down the boardwalk and onto the beach, for Warmarama.

Warm and ready to work we made out way to the last vestige of the old beach…the Oceananna Pier for a special treat…Three rounds of the following:

  • 20Ct Australian Mountain Climbers
  • 10Ct Pier Pole Derkins
  • 10Ct Pier Pole Urkins

Shoulders smoked and a bit on the dizzy side it was time to see a little more of the beach, time to mosey.

Objective:  Out and back for 1 mile total, stopping each 2 10ths of a mile to add a layer to our Rack and Stack.

Rack and Stack:

  • 10 Burpees (OYO)…50 Total
  • 20 Freddie Mercuries (IC)…80 Total
  • 30 Plank Jacks (SC)…90 Total
  • 40 Prisoner Squats (SC)…80 Total
  • 50 LBC’s (SC)

Back to the Pier for a special treat, time to Partner up!!!

Partner A:  Performers a Balls to the Wall

Partner B:  Broad Jump Burpees to the Cones and back.  (Cones set up at 10, 20, 30 yards)

Each Partner takes turn doing both the BTW and BJB, working out to the far set of cones…needless to say this was not a pleasant experience.

Ok, having that completed it was time to unpack that Rack and Stack from earlier…heading in the opposite direction down the beach we rolled out with the same plan.  Out and back 1 mile, stopping to rack down the same set of five exercises:

  • 10 Burpees (OYO)…50 Total (100 in both sets)
  • 20 Freddie Mercuries (IC)…80 Total (160 in both sets)
  • 30 Plank Jacks (SC)…90 Total (180 in both sets)
  • 40 Prisoner Squats (SC)…80 Total (160 in both sets)
  • 50 LBC’s (SC) (100 in both sets)

We finished back at the Life Guard stand at the Dunes Club with a couple minutes to spare, Gertrude lead us in a round of X’s and O’s to round out the workout.

YHC took the PAX out in prayer, respectful of all the blessings I have personally received and those we collectively share! It was an honor and a privilege to lead this morning. As noted earlier, I will be away a couple weeks, returning for the Slick Cam on June 2nd, keep it classy guys!
