Ok, Jason didn’t actually post but Shroom ventured out on Friday the 13th for his 1st Hashmark!
When YHC was planning the workout, he intended to mosey to the interior of Brandywine and have the pax do some exercises as per a usual Hashmark workout. But a late Thursday storm left a lot of debris on Brandywine Blvd. and YHC always puts safety first so I was determined to keep the Pax outside the gate. I remembered a workout a few weeks ago where we moseyed down the sidewalk alongside Hwy 24, periodically stopping at the power poles for exercises. I also read a back blast from Ronny B this week where he used the light poles at WCHS for exercise points so, never being shy about ripping off a workout from someone else, a plan was developed.
I arrived at the parking lot very early to put posters showing the designated exercise on each of the 9 power poles Soon the pax began arriving and at the appointed time we began.
WARMARAMA
- Short mosey to the grassy knoll
- Side Straddle Hops x 15 IC
- Abe Vigoda x 15 IC
- Sun Gods x 15 Forward / Hold / Reverse
- Cotton Pickers x 15 IC
- Right over Left / Left over Right / Feet Together stretch
- Very short mosey to the sidewalk
THE THANG
- Mosey to the 1st pole for the exercise, mosey back to the start, mosey to the 2nd pole for the 2nd exercise (stopping at the 1st to do that exercise again) etc. repeating for 9 poles. The exercises were:
- LBC x 10 SC
- Prisoner Squat x 10 SC
- WWI x 10 SC
- Mountain Climbers x 10 SC
- Carolina Dry Docks x 10 SC
- Merkins x 10 SC
- Monkey Humper x 10 SC
- Diamond Merkin x 10 SC
- Burpee x 10 SC
The above resulted in 90 LBCs, 80 Prisoner Squats, 70 WWIs, 60 Mountain Climbers, 50 Carolina Dry Docks, 40 Merkins, 30 Monkey Humpers, 20 Diamond Merkins, and 10 Burpees while covering almost 4 miles. Some of the Pax did a few more of these since they went back for the 6 and repeated some exercises.

Thanks to Shroom for leading us in prayer.
When I was planning the workout, I figured we wouldn’t be able to finish in time so I had a plan to Omaha but it turns out the Pax (and myself) was up for the challenge. We finished right at the hard stop. Great job by everyone. I wanted the Pax to spread out a little since our space was so confined for 15 men but next time I will be more attentive to the 6 and call for a pause to allow the group to finish together. I hope nobody felt left behind. It is awesome to see how far some of you men have come in such a short time. I am proud of all of you and it was my honor to lead you this morning.
