Valentine’s HOLE IN NONE Day Backblast
YHC awoke early this morning looking forward to Q’ing the Valentine edition of the HOLE IN NONE. Pulling into the parking lot of Fort Benjamin I was thinking back when I was first initiated into the Hole in None at MHCCC. One of the worst exercises I thought at the time was the Railroad track burpee beatdown initiated by the man, the myth, Sir Jang-a-lang (I heard rumor he was knighted by the Queen herself). At that workout I was totally exhausted and that was what I wanted for the pax this morning. After preparing for this for 2 weeks, I believe I tied in Valentine’s Day with a great partner workout. Flag planted 5,4,2,1 minute warnings given. First time perfect mission statement with disclaimer, YHC was feeling good.(might be the Aleve I took last night at 9). We were on our way for a rolling warm up.
WARMARAMA – Lap around the parking lot and venture out into the side road for first stop of
- 14 IC SSH
- 14 IC Abe Vigoda’s (slow windmill, speeding up at the end)
Run down to the T in the road for second stop of
- 14 IC Cotton Pickers
- 14 IC Imperial Walkers
Had to finish the Imp Walkers quickly to avoid the vehicle barreling down on us. We took off in a hurry and all made it back to the parking lot before the vehicle passed us by. RonB was recalling the last time he had run from the cops at the same time as Gert was yelling everyone into the woods they will never catch us. Fun times back in our youth.
Onto the THANG – partner up for
- 14 SC Merkin Squats – Partner 1 does squats holding the feet of partner 2 while they do Merkins (flip flop)
- 14 Bropees – Partner burpees with a hand slap during the jump
- 14 Hand slap Merkins – Partners slap alternating hands after each Merkin
1st round – Partner 1 does 5 IC Pickle pounders (getting ready for tonight) while partner 2 runs backwards. As partner 1 catches partner 2 flip flop until they get back to the starting cones. 5 IC Pickle pounders as a group.
2nd round – Partner 1 does 5 IC Boss Tweeds (see the theme here) while partner 2 runs backwards. As partner 1 catches partner 2 flip flop until they get back to the starting cones. 5 IC Boss Tweeds as a group.
Repeat both rounds then back to the Merkin squats, Bropees, Hand slap Merkins. Finishing it out with the rest of the Big Sexy 14 IC Monkey Humpers. This is where it takes me back to the original Hole in None I posted at with Jang-a-lang. A Railroad track burpee was in store for the pax. Pax get into the plank position far enough apart so first pax can jump over legs and do a burpee in between each pax. Repeat for each pax until each performs it twice. Slow Mosey back to the starting cones. Next round was regular Railroad tracks, pax line up in the plank position and each pax takes turns jumping over the legs of each until each performs exercise twice. Slow Mosey back to the starting cones. One of my new favorites was in store next. Captain Therkins – performed as a Jack Webb series 1 x 4 + 5. WWI’s x American Hammers + Merkins.
Grab the cones and time to circle up by the flags for MARY.
- 14 IC LBC’s Pastor Cleavor
- 14 X’s and O’s Monkey Wrench (had to cut him short, that man is a beast)
- 14 IC Freddie Mercury’s Crabby Englishman
- 14 IC Low flutters Hillary
- Last two minutes by RonB special Protractors (definite beatdown to finish)
No rookie Q mistake today, grabbed my phone and did the Namarama, announcements, and prayer requests. YHC took us out in the COT. YHC reminded the pax about Lent starting today and what we need to do the stay on the right path with the Sky Q. Even though we falter (yes we are human we make mistakes) YHC asked for God’s hands to pick us up and place us back on the right path to follow him. Giving love to people so they will love you back was the end of YHC’s Valentine day gathering in the gloom.
MOLESKIN
These past two weeks I reflected upon all of the posts I have been to when they were partner workouts. Giving someone a helping hand is really what we are doing when we partner up. You have a built in motivator. All of the partners I have had during workouts ( I do believe I have partnered with most of you) have kept me motivated and moving. Sometimes that is all you need to make it through a workout is a helping hand. Many a time I have hit my plateau and think, oh boy this is it I am not going to make it but then there you are pushing me, prodding me, telling me it is all in my head. You are correct sir, mind over body will work when you think you are exhausted, you still have 75% more to go. Schwegler taught me that one day. This is truly a game changer. This whole F3 experience has taught me that when you need a hand or a friend just look to either side of yourself at a workout and there it is. You men have motivated me way beyond what I expected to be at, at this point in my life. The kind words – Gert with a Thank you this morning. The motivation – Crabby Englishman wearing a 20lb weight vest. The dedication – Ron Burgundy, Monkey Wrench, Pastor Cleavor, Ricardo, HIllary, Plunger posting every chance they get. Thank you.
