• When: 06/25/18
  • Workout Style: Boot Camp
  • QIC: Monkey Wrench
  • PAX: Pasqually, Buckeye, Ron Burgundy, Blart, Holiday Mansion, Birdman, Ricardo, Newman
  • AO: Ft. Benjamin Park, Knarr

YHC had planned for a run around the 1 mile trail with a few exercises mixed in but as I watched a torrential downpour the night before I knew the marshes of Fort Benjamin would be overflowing so I broke out the eraser and went to plan B.  Buckeye was waiting in the parking lot as I pulled in and soon 7 other pax joined us (with Pasqually just squeezing in under the wire).

WARMARAMA

The following exercises are my best attempt at remembering exactly what we did.  These are the exercises I had written on my note card but I was distracted during warmarama by Pasqually’s tales of dating girls from the suburbs of Newport (ie, Mill Creek).  I dare not repeat them here.

  • Mosey to the north end of the parking lot
  • Side Straddle Hops X 15 IC
  • Abe Vigoda X 15 IC
  • Sun Gods X 15 forward / hold / reverse
  • Cotton Picker X 15 IC
  • Good Morning X 15 IC
  • Mosey back to the south end of the parking lot

THE THANG

  • Rack and Stack mosey starting with
    • Burpees x 5 SC
    • Merkins x 10 SC
    • Prisoner Squat x 15 SC
    • Monkey Humpers x 20 IC (later changed to IC)
    • Mountain Climbers x 25 SC
    • Unstack the above exercises on the way back (~1 mile, 45 Burpees, 70 Merkins, 75 Prisoner Squats, 60 Monkey Humpers, 25 Mountain Climbers)
  • Mosey to the tennis courts
    • 4 corners – Lunge the sideline, 10 LBCs, Bear Crawl the baseline
    • Repeat above for 5 laps
  • Mosey to the pavilion
    • Balls to the wall (5 count each man)
    • Recover with a People’s Chair (5 count each man)
    • Repeat above 3 times
  • Mosey to the shovel flag

MARY

  • American Hammer to the hard stop

COT

YHC took us out with prayers for Blart and his M and Gert and his family.

I dread preparing to lead a workout.  I’m concerned that the workout will not be tough enough for some of these Carterican bad asses but afterwards I feel honored to have lead.  It’s not about pushing everyone to splashing merlot.  Every man has his own limit.  There are always opportunities for each man to make a workout tougher by running harder, picking up the 6, doing extra exercises, etc.  The important thing is that each man is out there trying to get better.  So again, it was my honor and privilege to lead.
