Well you never know who may show at a ruck event, especially when its a wee bit chilly and half of the F3 Cartericans are loaded up in vans down by the river trying to run across the State of SC for some decent Clam Chowder in Charleston.  KUDOS FELLAS! I hope you have some of those smell good trees hanging in the vans!  For the ruckin’, well its pretty simple. Some days we work on distance, some days we add in some exercises and ground work, some days we cross, the bridge, and some days the Q goes rogue and has you bear crawl to Morehead middle school and back.

As the Site Q and also getting an opportunity to be the Q, YHC decided that he was going to remain undecided until game time.  Literally! Had no ideas where to go, but knew we were going to be gone for 1 hr.

We gathered in the glowing parking lot of Sweet Beans and DQ amongst some nice northern breezes and two… yes two shovel flags… Thanks Immigrant!

With no time to spare, YHC delivered a flawless rendition of the mission of F3, a disclaimer about what happens if you get hurt, and off we went. For 3 to 4 solid strides, we headed off to the East and then the Q decided on an alternative destination. Why not explore I thought… we have an hour.. let’s see what happens. So, with a hard U-Turn, the PAX headed West…… across Bridges St, and off towards ….. well… the West.

As we moseyed at perhaps a record rucking pace, we enjoyed a little mumble chatter, I think Reef Donkey shared some new Elk recipes and cooking techniques…  Spinal Tap was taking notes as not to miss the important parts like how many minutes before you turn the meat.  Before you know it… we took a hard right onto 35th St and gave a good morning salute to John Harris’s office as we passed by. The goal was to get to the Sportscenter… well at least I was aware of the goal.. pretty sure I didn’t share that with the PAX, but with time a tickin’, we took a hard right on Old Gate Rd. Now at this point, I knew we were going to make it back somewhere near the Hard Stop… just not sure how close as this was a virgin track for the Ruckin’ Ducks. We hoofed the back country of Mandy Farms before winding our way back to Barbour Rd, and right by Morehead Middle School. I think this is where the PAX Suitcase realized that we were actually on our way back. With no time to spare, we cruised right back into the starting gate and circled up for a quick count off and a few announcements. As a bonus… some of the Stampede fellers were strolling in and Medium Mic.. Formally known as Big Mic, offered up a round of JAVA and all was right in the world!

I always enjoy leading and am always grateful to those who are able to make it out in the gloom.

Prayers to those in need spoken and non spoken: Immigrants M’s mother.

Thank you to Spinal Tap for taking us out!

PEACE
