I wasn’t planning on it, but Doublemint was cooking pork somewhere for a lot of people, so when Crabby asked, I agreed, not realizing at the time that this would be my first time as Q of the Stampede.  So then I realized I had been at most stampedes for all of Madoff’s year as site Q and he never thought I was up to it.  Madoff, I know I am slower than you even though I am a couple of years younger, but dang, man. Anyway, there were no fng’s so there was no intro. At 5:30am we ran east.  Hillary, Rameses and Madoff crossed the bridge for the 5 mile route, YHC went straight down Evans, turning around after meeting up with the Rucky Duckers, for a total of a little over 4 miles, and the rest ran some other distance. Big Mic took us out with a great prayer. As always it was an honor to lead.

P.S.

Madoff says this back blast isn’t good enough, so I wrote this poem . . .

I taste a liquor never brewed –
From Tankards scooped in Pearl –
Not all the Frankfort Berries
Yield such an Alcohol!

Inebriate of air – am I –
And Debauchee of Dew –
Reeling – thro’ endless summer days –
From inns of molten Blue –

When “Landlords” turn the drunken Bee
Out of the Foxglove’s door –
When Butterflies – renounce their “drams” –
I shall but drink the more!

Till Seraphs swing their snowy Hats –
And Saints – to windows run –
To see the little Tippler
Leaning against the – Sun!
