The Dreadnought has always been an intimidating work out to me.  It is usually attended by those men that seem to excel in fast paced, high intensity workouts and thrive on the physical challenge.  In addition to the physical challenge, today we had the challenge of the cold and wet weather with wind chill factors below 30 degrees.  Needless to say, this was not ideal conditions to convince others in our F3 community to come out and participate.  The Weather did not deter participation and we had a committed group ready to roll at 5:25am.

Moseyed to the front parking lot of the High School for warmarama:  SSH x15, Windmill x15, Cotton Picker x15  Brief mosey across street to covered church drive through for Left over Right, Right over Left, Willie Mayes Hayes, and Sun Gods.

We then proceeded down the Morehead City By-Pass and stopped at every light as we ran to the Carteret News Time parking Lot.  At each light, we did a number of excercises- Burpees, Alternating Shoulder taps, WW1’s, Merkins, LBC’s, Carolina Dry Docks, Low Slow Flutter.  We would do a combination of exercises and would then run to the next light.  My goal in adding these exercises was to slow the PAX down so I could keep up.  In addition to the exercises breaking up the run, we ran into a slick and what felt like “icy” bridge.  Once we arrived at the newspaper, we turned around and made our way back home repeating the stops at the lights with the variety of exercises.  The PAX returned to the covered drive through a the Church where Hillary led us in a quick 2 min cool down stretch (thank you) before we ran back to the flag for a hard stop.

Announcements:  Christmas party this weekend and Christmas Ruck all day Saturday.  Sounds like Shroom has one amazing ruck planned, so make sure you get all of the details for Saturday.

Prayer Requests:  John Jenkins

We had a great group of men come out today and lead the way for the group.  Each of these men continue to get in better shape and always seem to rise above any physical challenge they face.  It was great to have FNG Plug this morning and he was very appreciative of the welcome he received from everyone.  We are very fortunate to have the group of guys we have to work out with everyday and to be able to count on each other for keeping us all humble and accountable.  Thank you for the opportunity to lead and for everyone showing up- Bayliner
