YHC decided very early that this workout would consist of listening to 80s music while working out.  I selected 13 of my favorite kettlebell exercises, downloaded several 80s classics and, Boom, the workout was prepared.  I pulled up to the AO to see Newman was already there.  I quickly verified a connection between my phone and bluetooth speaker and I was ready.

It was a late-arriving Pax but a sizeable crowd of 14 (7 Bellers, 7 Noners) gathered at the hard start and we were off.

WARMARAMA

Newman and I took turns leading Sun Gods, Abe Vigodas (Google him Pyle), Cotton Pickers, and Plank/Down Dog/Cobra.  Then each group went their separate ways.

THE THANG

The Pax did 13 different exercises for 1 minute each with a 15 second break between each exercise.  Navy quickly told me that a minute was too long.  I told him to stay in his lane but soon discovered that he was right.  Anyway, the exercises were:

  • Right arm curl
  • Left arm curl
  • Right overhead press
  • Left overhead press
  • Goblet squat
  • Right arm row
  • Left arm row
  • Kettlebell sit up
  • Kettlebell swing
  • Right lunge
  • Left lunge
  • Right tricep curl
  • Left tricep curl

Short palate cleansing mosey with 2 stops for 10 merkins each then repeat the workout sequence.

MARY

  • Box cutters
  • WWI
  • Boss Tweeds

COT

The 2 groups of Pax reconvened and Kiwi led us in prayer.

During the workout, Ronnie B demonstrated his mastery of useless 80s music trivia.  Note to self, make sure he is my partner at the next Rock and Roll Trivia Night at PLM.  Thanks for the opportunity to lead Spongebob.  I haven’t been to Tinkerbells in a while and it was a lot of fun.
