YHC  was so kindly voluntold to Q by Jang A Lang and I was fine with that until I saw the weather report. There are not many colder places than standing in the Sanitary parking with a 20 mph N wind blowing at 0530 in the morning.  7 HIM showed up and with the wind chill at 8, abbreviated mission statement was given and we took off down Evans St towards the Bask. YHC wanted to find a place somewhat out of the wind and figured the Bask would offer some shelter. Much to my surprise the bands had ventured down there as well so I figured we would warm up with them. Only Immigrant thought it was a good idea to stand in the middle of the intersection in a wind tunnel instead of in front of the building, SMH.

Warmarama:

Immigrant led in SSH, Cotton Pickers, more SSH and sun gods. YHC led us in the windmill and right over left and left over right stretch. Somewhere in there Poca started talking to Jang from across the circle, only to find out it was a bundled up Winnie the poo.  It was getting colder so the table setter pax took off down Evans st.

The Thang:

We ran two blocks stopping for 10 squats and 10 alternating shoulder taps IC. Ran two more blocks stopping for 15 squats and 15 AST IC. Ran two more blocks and we reached the tennis courts.

Starting with a quick rack n stack. 10 merkins, down and back across the courts. 10 merkins, 10 mountain climbers IC, down and back. 10 merkins, 10 MC, 10 Plank Jacks IC, down and back. Time to work back down dropping the PJ until we were left with 10 merkins.

Next up was a bear crawl across stopping at each line on the 1st court for a merkin and lung walk across the 2nd court. We did this going back as well. Next exercise was the broad jump burpee across the 1st court and lunge walk across the 2nd. We did this going back.

Time for a round of suicides touching every line. YHC forgot how many lines there were on the new courts…

With it time to head back, we lined up for an indian run heading to 12th St. We stopped there for LBC’s x 15 IC and LSF x 15 IC. YHC instructed the pax to head to the park at 70%. Time for some chain work. Steamer was worried the chain was going to be too cold on his feet. We started in the standard plank for a 10 count and went into the derkin x 10. We stayed in the plank for a 10 count and then derkins x 5, never putting our feet down. With a quick break, we went back into the standard plank on the chain and each pax counted off for a 5 count.

We headed back towards the flag stopping in front of Off the Hook to get out of the wind. WWI x 15, Freddie Merc x 15 IC, American hammer x 15 IC. Time to get back to the flag and had just enough time for a 30 second plank hold.

Announcements were given and Steamer took us out in prayer.

Always a pleasure to lead,

Aflac
