  • AO: Ft. Benjamin Park, Knarr

It was good to see that the cold did not scare away the knarr regulars today. The Brandywiners were on site before the Q rolled in with a couple minutes to spare, still half asleep. After a two minute countdown, and a hard start at 0530, we moseyed around the trail and stopped for side straddle hops and Imperial squat walkers. Squid kept the Q in line today due to his rookie-like errors, which YHC attributes to not enough coffee. We Continued the mosey back to the parking lot for mountain climbers and forward / reverse girl fights. The Q then figured out that the town of Newport did not want to put forth the funds to install curbs at their facility, so they went with the more affordable version of parking stops. We each found one of the concrete stops to do some plank step downs, uneven squats both directions, and plank step ups (X 20 each). Then it was off To the tennis courts for a round of 15 donkey kicks, side shuffle maze around the sidelines and base lines, 15 more donkey kicks, a round of monkey humper suicides, and 15 more donkey kicks. It would of been nice if the pax could of heard the Q’s instructions, but good ol’ Ronnie B was flapping his yapper too much for anyone to hear.   We then moseyed over to find a wall. 20 each of: plank wall step ups, Merkins, plank wall step ups, and more Merkins. After a mosey back to the parking lot, the Q dropped his tailgate to reveal that he left the RS logs in the back of his truck over the weekend. Each man picked up a log, and we noticed that Pasquale found the smallest and lightest log in the back of the truck, while Squid took one of the largest 🧐. Moseying with log in hand, we stopped for 20 each of: squats, overhead presses, bicep curls, and the Q’s choice (plank step overs, Merkins, Durkins). We repeated this loop around the building 3 times. Then it was back to the parking stops for another round of plank step step ups, uneven squats and plank step downs. With time to spare, we got in 30 squat jumps before a mosey to the flag for five minutes of Mary. Mary consisted of: Freddie mercury‘s, low slow flutters, 50 boss tweets, 30 more Merkins, and a set of Peter Parker‘s until a hard stop.  Count off, name a Rama, announcements, and prayer request. YHC took us out with a quick prayer, because sweaty clothes and cold don’t mix.

With no repeaters from the Rolling Stone last week, YHC was able to do a little repeato with a new twist for the knarr.  It’s always a great morning with the Brandywine crew.  It was almost cold enough for the tears to freeze on monkeywrench’s cheeks when he was thinking about the complete waxing that the Wolfpack got this weekend.  Ron Burgundy and Pasquale always seem to open that door for an opportunity to make fun of them with some reverse mumble chatter.    I appreciate squid keeping me in check a couple times this morning. Ricardo and buckeye remain quiet and strong.  Thank you two for the opportunity to travel up to the big metropolis of Newport.   Look forward to many more.
