With the parking lot at Western Park being a landfill from Hurricane Florence, QIC decided to meet at East Coast Square with a plan to mosey towards FOD. I arrived at the AO early on foot to scout things out and had to detour my usual route due to storm water filling up the field behind the office park. Dash 8 was my one true HC and I was excited to catch up with him prior to our HS. Well, eight strong men gathered at the HS with no sign of Dash 8 so off we went for Warmarama. We moseyed around the office stopping at all four corners for side straddle hops and cotton pickers. Next we created a path through the “brush” behind the property that lead us to the pool at Marsh Harbor. We stopped here for a set of 11’s, Merkins and WWIs from the speed bump up the hill to the stop sign. We moseyed on to the fire station and stopped here for a quick 5 burpees OYO. I called this a recovery mosey with recovery burpees from the set of 11’s and got a little mumble chatter from the PAX. Next we made our way to Western Park and our true FOD. We headed for the playground and partnered up. Partner one started on 100 squats while partner two made their way around the playground, always facing their partner so running backwards and shuffling side to side. Next we tackled 200 lunges and then moseyed back to the fire station. 5 more burpees OYO here and then mosey to the stop sign, 15 merkins here, and we moseyed back to the Marsh Harbor pool for 15 LBCs. Cooter lead us back through the “brush” towards the office park. At this point QIC got caught up in the “brush” and ended up with blood running down his right leg. Back at the office park we circled up for some PAX choice Mary. Each member called an exercise at each corner of the building. Fortnite was last but not least with one minute to spare. We moseyed around the building for a palate cleanser to end back where we started. I called for 10 burpees OYO in honor of Dash 8 being a hour late on his HC. That was met with significant mumble, but we knocked them out right at the HS. Namarama, announcements, prayers for Florence, and Pillbox took us out with heartfelt words.
I titled this backblast 375-8 because my watch had us covering 3.75 miles and we sure did miss Dash 8 out there. It’s always a honor to Q in Carterico so thanks for allowing me the opportunity Lunchbox. SYITG
