Who is Brian Lawrence?

What a great way to start off the week…THE Green Mile.  I knew it was going to be a good one knowing we had a celebrity scheduled to be on site…Gertrude.  I was a bit disappointed to not see him when I rolled up but saw Canary and Uncle Rico stretching and ready to roll which I was pumped to see.  Introduced myself to a new face in the crowd and it was Loy Ehlers (F3 @Navy) an FNG.  Boom an FNG and some of the new guys.   During the introductions Loy mentioned he was invited by Brian Lawrence?  Who is Brian Lawrence I wondered..probably one of those guys to the east?  Shortly after the introductions Gertrude comes in with a couple minutes to spare as we hear a diesel engine purring coming in hot on two wheels….living up to his name…Cooter.  I could hear the Dukes of Hazzard theme song playing in the background as he jumped the curb and people scattered to avoid being hit.  He did make it on time though.  He immediately went up to greet the FNG…now I know who Brian Lawrence is…Cooter.

I gave my best mission statement and thought I must have messed it up by the look on Tony Romo’s face…maybe I got it wrong…or maybe he still doesn’t know it?

I gave the 3 F’s, disclaimer and my best shot at the core principles for the FNG.  I asked Gertrude for his approval of the principles and he gave a subtle nod.  We were off…

Everyone had a good run.  Navy, Cooter and Gertrude stretched out a solid 4 miles and got back in plenty of time for the COT.  I got in a little 2^nd F with Tony Romo on the way back as Canary and Uncle Rico led everyone up to the Beach Mart.  Great to see Canary and Uncle Rico coming back.  Later we found out Canary had flu like symptoms but still came.  Way to man up Canary!  We circled up for nameorama…it went perfect.  We then went to announcements and prayers.

Prayers for Doublemint’s family, Canary battling being ill but still managed to come out (props man), members that weren’t able to join us for one reason or another, Birdman’s family, Plebe’s family, Griswold’s family and Cooter let everyone know he was on his third day of giving up smoking….way to go brother!

Cooter took us out in a great prayer.

Did I forget something?  Oh yes….I did.  We didn’t name the FNG!  How careless and embarrassing.

I grabbed everyone after prayer and we grilled Loy for a few minutes and gave him his new name…Navy…due to it being his favorite branch of the military.
