• When: 04/03/2018
  • Workout Style: HI Boot Camp
  • QIC: Misty
  • PAX: Winnie the Poo, Squealer, Hillary, Crabby Englishman, Newman, Kiwi, Pasqually, Frosted Flake, Jang a Lang, Monkey Wrench
  • AO: Back Blasts, Dreadnought, West Carteret High School

Coming off of a great Easter Weekend and having so many brothers “from off” in the neighborhood YHC was fully prepared for a strong contingent of newcomers to the Dreadnought, alas it appears that the intoxicating rhythm of Carterican life has swayed many to remain in their fartsacks.  While the foreign contingent did not appear a grizzled and wily group of 10 Carterican veterans braved the gloom to get better and to do more with their day, however none felt compelled to join YHC for the standard so the feat was performed alone…two miles down.

YHC had an ambitious plan for the morning, knowing that it would require significant push to accomplish all that existed on the Q card the disclaimer was delivered a could seconds early and we quickly moseyed toward the track, causing some directional confusion with some whom I suspect wanted to mosey the long way round the building, lest they worry plenty of miles to come.

Moseying around the track to the East End Zone of the football field, in the soft grass just behind the field goal posts we began our warmarama as follows:

10 ct – Hilly Billy

10 ct – Windmill

15 ct – Cotton Picker

15 ct (both sides) – Left over Right/Right over Left

Wanting to get going quickly and knowing that Jang-a-Lang HATES to spend too much time in the warmarama we proceeded to the midpoint of the track on the visitors side to begin some Speed Work as follows:

400 Meter Sprint – 5 Burpees

300 Meter Sprint – 10 Burpees

200 Meter Sprint – -15 Burpees

100 Meter Sprint – 20 Burpees.

Enough Track time we moved quickly down the path (avoiding the still locked main gate) toward Glad Tidings stopping under the ol’faithful canopy which shielded us from many of wet Tuesdays last year for a little Jack Webb action.

Jack Webb:  2 ct Spider Merkin/2ct Mountain Climber working up to 10 ct of each.

With our arms a little numb and the mumble chatter starting to perk back up it was time to get the PAX moving yet again, off we strolled down the bike path making three stops (first light pole, far side of the foot bridge, and turn to Swinson) to perform the following set:

5 – Burpees

10 – Spider Merkins

15 – WWI’s

Once the third set of the above was completed we moseyed forth to the picnic tables at Swinson Park for three rounds of Box Jumps/Dips.

10 – Box Jumps – 10 Dips

15 Box Jumps – 15 Dips

20 Box Jumps – 20 Dips.

Time was becoming a challenge at this stage so we quickly back tracked both our steps and workout down the Bike Path, repeating the three sets of 5/10/15 at the same three spots finishing back at the flag for namorama, announcements, and BOM.

All told we completed the following reps/miles.

3.5 miles of running/sprinting

80 Burpees

90 Spider Merkins

90 WWI’s

45 Box Jumps

45 Dips

30 Mountain Climbers

Announcements: Madoff on the Q at the HIN tomorrow, Winnie the Poo Q’ing the Chicken Shack.

Prayers for the family of David Hall (Veterinarian at Mitchell Village Animal Hospital who passed over the weekend), Prayers for member of FUMC fighting through Autism, many others unspoken as they often are.

Thank you to the PAX for the push and for the commitment to get stronger through adversity!
