Six men gathered in the heat of the gloom and joined YHC in what is arguable his favorite workout of the week.  As YHC pulled into the parking lot in front of Sweet Beans, Wilson and Gobbler were all ready stretching.  YHC was beginning to wonder if this workout was going to be a threesome but right then  Reef comes barreling in followed quickly by Spinal and Nip.   Being that there were no FNG’s, YHC began the workout with 10 SSH I/C, completely and utterly forgetting to recite the Mission Statement and Disclaimer.   After some stretching we declared ourselves warm and headed to the base of the bridge, with Reef Donkey bravely leading the way while waving any and all vehicles away from our walking lane.

Arriving at the top and with Reef continuing to cast a watchful eye south, we did 10 Urkins followed by 10 squats.  After a brief recovery we did the same 2 sets of exercises and increased the count to 15 reps.  After the all clear from Reef we crossed the bridge and returned to the base and hung a right through the fence onto Evans.  We made our way down Evans toward 18th street and stopped at each intersection for sets of Merkins, Squats, Low Slow Flutters and whatever else happened to pop into YHC’s head.  It wouldn’t be a true F3 workout if we didn’t do at least a few Burpees so YHC threw a set of 5 in the mix along the way.  Twice we hung a right and walked toward the water at a public access point and did Merkins and Squats while watching boats go by and listening to the water lapping the shore.  A pretty good spot to get your reps in.

Turning around at 18th Street  we began the mosey back to the parking lot and enjoyed conversations of various sorts. No exercises on the return trip.

We arrived at Sweet Beans with just enough time to have each Pax call out a quick cool down exercise.  Someone called time and we did a quick name a rama.  Announcements included  Slick Cam tomorrow with Tiny Dancer on the Q and Chinese Downhill bringing the pain to  the Hero Patriot on what will be his 52nd birthday.  I expect him to be fired up and do his best to show the PAX just what a 52 year old man can do.  It should be fun!

Prayers for a co-worker of Nipple Shot that i going through a very tough time and will be making a decision regarding Chemo options soon.

Spinal Tap took us out in prayer as only Spinal Tap can do. The man rivals Ramses and Creflo in the prayer department.

It was a great morning for a Ruck.  We covered a little over 2 miles but we stopped several times for our various exercises and we all worked up a good sweat.  It’s always fun to partner up with a fellow Pax that maybe you don’t know as well and have some conversation that you can’t have while running hard and doing fast and furious reps. So if you haven’t posted at the Rucky Duck, let me encourage you to do  so. Then while there, start up a conversation with someone  you don’t know very well.  YHC guarantees that you will enjoy the walk.

Always a pleasure to lead.

Puddles out..
