YHC was anxious about leading the Pax on this frigid  Carterico morning. Lassie had informed me earlier in the week that I had the keys to Q the Hero and I was a bit hesitant. I must say, I’m a bit intimidated by leading my brothers in the Central/Morehead Carterico area. Most of you have been doing this longer and are in much better shape than I am. I tend to worry that my workouts won’t live up to the standards you’ve come to expect. But, I’ve always been encouraged by all of you to push myself to be better, and that doesn’t happen from the sidelines. So with a little inspiration from Lassie, I accepted the call to take the Q.

YHC arrived at the AO about 30 min early to plant the shovel flag and survey the conditions due to the inclement weather from the past few days. I had some things planned that I suspected I might have to Omaha for safety reasons. I was correct. The track and the bleachers were completely iced over. Since about 85% of my workout was planned on those surfaces, a new location would need to be scouted out. I spent some time walking the campus and a new plan was developed. Back at the parking lot, the first of the Pax were pulling in. With 10 min to spare I jumped back in my truck to thaw out and prepare my thoughts. At the five min warning, I got out and the pax began to make their way out of the vehicles as the rest of the Pax was pulling in. 3 min and 1 min warnings were given and it was time for a hard start at 7:00. With an FNG on site, the full F3 definition, mission statement, and disclaimer were given. With that we did a very short mosey across the parking lot and back to the flag for

Warmarama
Windmills x 20 ic
Burpees x 2 oyo
Imperial Walkers x 20 ic
Burpees x 2 oyo
At this point we had more pax join us so we did 2 burpees for each late arrival
Good mornings x 15 ic
Burpees x 2 oyo
Sun gods x 15 ic
Burpees x 2 oyo
Reverse sun gods x 15 ic
Burpees x 2 oyo

The Thang
Merkin Mile
I informed the pax that since the track was frozen over, we would use the perimeter of the student parking lot as our 1/4 Mile course. The pax would make four laps, stopping at each corner for merkins. 16 at the first corner and counting down at each corner by one until we completed four laps and reached zero. This would be oyo and the pax were encouraged to circle back at the end and partner up with a pax in the six and finish together. About halfway through my third lap, ole Nippleshot comes rolling in hot and joins me for the remainder of the exercise. Upon completion, the pax circled up and did three burpees in honor of Nip’s late arrival.

From here we mosied over to the third base dugout for
Dips x 25 S.C.
Erkins x 25 S.C.
Dips x 25 S.C.
Erkins x 25 S.C.
Between each set of exercises the pax would run to the right field wall and back.

Next we headed back to the parking or for a
Quarter Pounder
We lined up along a set of parking spaces and the plan was laid out
Run to next set of parking spaces
25 LBC
Run back to start
Run to second set of parking spaces
50 Air presses
Run back to start
Third set
75 LBC
Fourth set
100 Air presses
Once completed, YHC called for a second round. This time it would be
25 Hand release merkins
50 squats
75 Hand release merkins
100 squats
At the first set, YHC realized he had over reached calling for 75 Hand release merkins. I called for an Omaha to regular merkins, but when we got to the second station for 50 squats, I checked the time and decided to cut it short and eliminate the last two legs entirely. I had other things planned that needed some time. From here we headed to the west side wall of the school for
Indian bear chair
The pax would assume the people’s chair position and one by one would bear crawl from the last position to the front of the line, slowly working their way down the wall. Once we reached the end of the wall, or as far as the ice would let us go, we reversed and worked back to the start. Next YHC called for
Balls to the wall
The pax assumed the position and a five count was given by each man. With 16 pax, that proved to be a satisfyingly painful length of time. Once the pax dropped, YHC had enjoyed it so much I called to rinse and repeat.

We moseyed back over to the shovel flags for a quick round of

Mary
YHC called on the Pax to go around the circle and lead an exercise. Those exercises included
WW1’s
American hammers
Pickle pounders
Cross-legged lbc’s
Box cutters
One-armed boss tweeds
Low slow flutters
Donkey kicks

Hard stop 8:00

Namarama
Shroom brought an FNG, Carson Odell, who Steamer renamed “Honky Tonk” due to his preference for alternative rock music.

COT
Prayer requests were given and Holiday took us out in prayer.

I can’t say enough about what you guys mean to me and how important you are in my life. Thanks Lassie for making me better and believing in me.
