YHC showed up just in time for a three minute warning on this chilly morning…  Squid and Cooter were already in place at the flag.  Then with a little under 2 minutes to go, 2 more rolled in at about the same time.  Dash 8 hopped out of his truck immediately and Kiwi enjoyed the warmth of his car until it was time.  Newman rolled in hot just in time for a flawless welcome, mission statement, and disclaimer.  And that is where the flawlessness ended…

YHC had this great plan to use his fancy Apple Watch as his winky today.  With the help of an app called Drafts, he carefully constructed a perfect workout for the day.  I could pull it up on the watch and everything was there.  (For those of you that have an Apple Watch, there is a setting I forgot.  It’s the one that keeps the screen in the app instead of returning to the watch face every time you look at it.)  So, every time I looked at my watch, the winky was gone.

I also thought it best to wear my new headlamp since some spots in Brandywine are dark and Dash 8 and I hate those speed bumps.  Of course, I didn’t study up on how to use the headlamp, so I nearly gave Squid a seizure with the flashing red lights that I couldn’t turn off.  I finally just put it in my pocket.

First little intersection in Brandywine – Warm-a-Rama

  • Sun Gods IC X 10 – forward and backward
  • Cotton Pickers IC X 10
  • Windmills IC X 10
  • Stretch – Left Over Right, Right Over Left – 10 Count each

The Thang:

Run the Lord Granville Loop.  I looked at Google Maps and planned every stop carefully to complete BLIMPS.

  • 5 Burpees
  • 10 LBCs
  • 15 Imperial Walkers
  • 20 Mountain Climbers
  • 25 Plank Jacks
  • 30 Squats

Rack and Stack and then unstack.  But of course, the winky on the watch didn’t work, so I just guessed on the stops.  At some point, our site Q – who knows the territory much better than me – suggested a shortcut.  This was also about the time YHC realized how bad missing a week of workouts is.  Thankfully, as always, the PAX stepped up and helped me out.  Since they had figured out the pattern, they did a lot of the counting for me on the way back.  Everyone took a turn – just like I planned it…  🤔  With Squid’s shortcut, we made it back to the entry in time for 3 minutes of…

Mary:

  • Dying Cock Roach – IC X 20
  • Box Cutters – IC X 20
  • Low Slow Flutter – IC X 15

Short Mosey to the shovel flag in time for the Hard Stop

For those of you Q-ing the Hashmark in the future, you can complete the loop, but with much fewer exercises at each stop.  This was my first Q at the Hash and they told me I should have come run it before so I could have known the correct pace.  Ha!  Great idea…

Announcements:
Check Slack for tomorrow’s workouts.

Prayer Requests:

  • Holiday’s M – Recovering from surgery
  • Newman’s Friend – Recovering from brain surgery
  • All those still recovering from the storm

As always, it was a pleasure to lead (and follow, which I did today as well).  Thanks, Squid, for putting me on this Q.  You can’t fartsack when you’re on the Q.
