Endless Suicides on the Soft Carterican Sand

A pax of 26 from near and far converged upon the parking lot of the Dunes Club for the latest edition of the Slick Cam.  Indeed, as the name suggests, it was not a drop of wind for 60 minutes of misery in the Carterican sand.  It was good to see old friends that adorn our home during the summer months; Reproducer, Grady, Morning, Amphibious, Windsor, Drysdale, and Slim Jim.  Many regions were well represented this fine day.  After an appropriate intro, and mission statement proclaimed, YHC took the boys of the Old North State for a mosey to the front lawn for a little,

Warm A Rama:

SSH IC x 20

Cotton Pickers IC x 15

Sun gods IC x 10, rev x 10

Burpees x 5 OYO

Good Mornings, yes as this is obligatory in the summer months, IC x 15.

Mosey to the beach to count off 1,2 1,2 which proved to be a challenge, and form two lines, each line grabbing a 25 pound kettlebell for a 1.5 mile Indian Run.  The 6 ran the kettlebell to the front and it was passed to the back.  Once it made its way back, the six ran it to the front.  We ran out .75 miles and the enthusiasm seemed low so on our stroll YHC uped the ante and made it into a contest and race with the losing team owing 10 burpees at the lifeguard stand.

Once there with stated debts paid, we went to a set of cones for:

Endless Soft Sand Suicides

4 cones, 120 yards from start to the last one.

Each round was a different exercise at each cone

1) Hand Release Merkins IC x 5,5,5,5

2) Mountain Climbers SC x 5,10,15,20

3) Palate Cleanser standard suicides

4) Groiners SC x 5,10,15,20

5) Carolina Dry Docks SC x 5,10,15,20

6) Prisoner Squats SC x 10,20,30,40

This took longer than expected so we mosey’d to the pier for an abbreviated partner AMRAP

P1 Run to the first cone 50 yards out, P2 BTTW, flapjack, Whiteboots asked, “Steamer, what a flapjack?”  SMH.

8:00 AM Gordy Lee at the Fort tomorrow.  Convergence for Memorial Day, 0600 WCHS Monday.  2 FNGs, welcome Jenny Craig and I Forgot.  Reproducer took us out in prayer thankful as always.  It was such a good time seeing our boys from other regions come grind in the gloom with us.  Let’s remember those that paid the ultimate sacrifice for this country as we enjoy the price they paid.  It was an honor to lead a fine group of HIMs today!
