- AO: Back Blasts
YHC showed up a little early today and was the first to arrive. Uh oh. Would I be alone on my anniversary? Nope. Blart and Buckeye arrive at the same time. Then came Ronnie B, Holiday and Gert. And then of course, at the one minute warning, Pasqually joined us. A flawless mission statement and a “sort of” disclaimer were given and we were off for a little mosey before the warm-a-rama. Next thing you know, we have one more chasing us across the parking lot. Kiwi is here!
Warm-a-rama:
- Side Straddle Hops IC X 20
- Sun Gods IC X 10 – forward and backward
- Cotton Pickers IC X 15
- Imperial Walkers IC X 20
- Monkey Humpers (in honor of my first post with Monkey on the Q) – IC X 10
- I was told these are not a warm up…
- Stretch – Left Over Right, Right Over Left – 10 Count each
The Thang:
- Run the trail – 4 stops – Lots of Merkins – ‘Merica – Get it?
- 1 – Double Merkin Burpee
- 4 – Carolina Dry Docks
- 9 – Merkins
- 2 – Worse Merkin Ever (1 Wide + 1 Regular + 1 Diamond = 1 WME)
2 sets per stop. This proved to be a lot tougher than it looked on paper…
After thoughts of a Bearmuda Triangle (since Columbus probably passed right by there), I Omaha-ed because our arms were pretty shot already. Instead, we did some legs and abs with a little Dora on the double tennis courts. 100 squats and 200 LBCs while the other partner ran the lap.
Next we did a little round of dips, derkins, and urkins. 15, 10, 5 reps. Then a slow mosey over to the stage for a couple of rounds of people’s chair (10 count each) and balls to the wall (5 count each). Of course, Pasqually and Buckeye had a lot of catching up to do so, this took a little longer than that planned. I think they were sharing personal infection stories. Usually being in Newport reminds Pasqually of his high school girlfriends…
Then we did a little Indian (Ha Ha) Run around the parking lot before we finished up with…
Mary:
- American Hammer – IC X 20
- American 🤔 Cockroach (led by Pasqually) – IC X 14
- Boss Tweeds (Led by Buckeye, but don’t look him in the eye. You may catch something…) – IC X 16
- X’s and O’s (led by Gertrude) – Silent Count
- Low Slow Flutter (led by Holiday) – IC X 20
Hard Stop
It was a pleasure to lead on this first anniversary! I’ve enjoyed my first year as a part of this group and hope for many more!
