YHC has been itching to try out his new F3 Gear Deck of Death.  Yesterday YHC discovered there is even something called the “Dexicon” on the F3 site with tips on how to use the deck.  As YHC was surveying the AO and developing the omaha plan because 1/2 of the CHS parking lot is now filled with disaster recovery equipment, Griswold showed up for a standard and headed out.  YHC continued to re-set the playing field as more and more PAX emerged from the gloom.  It was great to see our numbers increasing again and starting to feel like we are inching back towards normal.

Since YHC didn’t have time for a standard to get the joints oiled up and working, we did a dynamic warmorama consisting of butt kickers, toy soldiers, Karoke and high knees all for about 15 or 20 yards each out and then back again.  We finished with 15 seal jacks and 15 imperial walkers. Oh, and three burpees for two PAX late arrivals.

The plan for the THANG today was simple, YHC set 5 “cones” about 15 yards apart on the band practice field.  We would start at the gym end and work our way towards the Bogue Sound end of the field stopping at each cone to perform reps of the designated exercise then jog back to the starting point.  The Deck of Death, which has specific exercises on the face of each card (clubs=core, hearts=cardio, spades=legs, diamonds=upper body), would determine the number of reps and what we would do at each cone.

PAX lined up facing the sound and the deck was shuffled.  Each PAX took a turn choosing two cards.  Card #1 would determine the exercise, card #2 would determine the reps at each stop. If any PAX were to choose the joker, Couch Potato would be responsible for deciding both exercise and reps. Here is how it played out:

Hand #1 – Luge x 10 (50 total) FYI “Luge” is like a combo of an LBC and a WWI.

Hand #2 – Merkin x 15 (75 Total)

Hand #3 – backpedal to the end and back

Hand #4 – LBC’s in cadence x 10 (50 total)

Hand #5 – Lunges in cadence x 10 (50 total)

Hand #6 – JOKER – Couch Potato gave us 10 burpees, 10 supermans IC, WWI’s IC, 10 Merkins and 10 more burpees

Hand #7 – Hand release merkins x 20 (100 total) This seemed to be a crowd favorite based on the chatter.

Hand #8 – Monkey Humpers in cadence x 10 (50 total)

Hand #9 – Freddie Mercs in cadence x 10 (50 total)

Hand #10 – Low slow flutters in cadence x 20 (100 total)

Hand #11 – JOKER – Couch Potato hurt us so bad I don’t even remember what he did.  Blessedly, we hit a hard stop as we finished our last rep.

It was a great pleasure to see so many friends faces this morning and everyone seemed strong and happy to be back at it.  We circled up for announcements – Countywide Convergence 10/13 at West Carteret.  Breakfast to follow.  Stay tuned for details.  Dumpster Dawg on the Q for Mullet Wrapper tomorrow, Dash 8 on his Virgin Q Saturday at FOD.  Prayers requested for Griswold and his family on the passing of his step father this past weekend.  Kiwi took us out with heartfelt words.

In closing, YHC wants to mention that F3 Alpha down in the North Atlanta region lost a brother named Darth Visor this week.  Darth Visor actually passed away during the F3 workout at an AO called Big Creek.  Keep F3 Alpha and Darth Visor’s family in your thoughts and prayers.  As Law Dawg pointed out to YHC yesterday, this is one reason we never leave the six behind.  Take care of each other and thank God for every moment we get to spend in fellowship.

As always, it was a pleasure and an honor to lead this morning.  Thank you for the opportunity Snooki!

Navy, Out.
