Remember that scene from the first Indiana Jones when he is picking up the idol and replacing it with the bag of sand? Yeah, then Indiana Jones does a jail break for the cave exit through 3,000 spider webs? That was us on Wednesday during our ruck at the tideland trail in Swansboro. Well, minus the giant boulder trying to smash us.
We set out at 5:15 AM, 9 including the queue, looking for hidden treasure in the gloom. Two of the PAX are training for a marathon, so they were the advance team clearing out the spider webs for the rest of the crew. We rucked the entire tideland trail and still had time to make the second smaller loop before we bolted back to the entrance of the park. No hidden treasure in hand, but close to 4 miles under our belts we counted off, prayed and headed our separate ways to go forth and conquer.
Good thing Ladybug wasn’t there. He may have lost his mind with all the spiders and high grass on the trail!
