I woke up at 2 a.m. looked outside and was disappointed to see lightning in the distance but woke this morning to find picture perfect weather.
I had been wanting to bring one of my best friends to a workout and finally did it today. Buoy and I headed to the Bogue Inlet Pier to find Rupaul ready to roll.
After Buoy and Rupaul greeted each other the mission statement was given and off we went. We made it to 24 and saw a car coming in on 2 wheels. It was Vice. Just in time for some….
SSH X 40 IC
Squats X 30 SC
Rupaul and Myself did 3 Burpees for Vice (Full Metal Jacket)…but Vice joined in as well.
Buoy didn’t participate in the exercises but continued to stretch in anticipation of the ruck.
We headed off in the darkness for our ruck. Buoy was pretty quiet and was full steam ahead while Vice, Rupaul and Myself caught up on a little 2nd F with topics ranging from the finer points of Kevin McHale’s up and under, Uber, the school system, etc. We got to our intersection and did a few exercises….
Merkins X 25 SC
Squats X 25 SC
Rinse and Repeat 2X
Rupaul and Buoy seemed to be getting along very well during the Merkins. I looked to find Buoy whispering in Rupaul’s ear during the exercises. Buoy still did not participate. I was disappointed but not surprised.
We got to the beach and I could tell Buoy was in his element. He would get ahead of the group and come back….we could not keep up. Buoy gave hints of stomach pains on the ride over and I think the exercising got his bowels moving. I looked up to find Buoy taking a dump on the beach. I was a bit embarrassed to have brought an FNG that would do such a thing but if you have to go you have to go. The PAX really didn’t make a big deal of the awkward situation so I was thankful for them understanding.
We headed to the pier with soft sand in front of us and made it with a few minutes to spare. Buoy took another dump on the beach before heading up to the parking lot. He looked fine but must have been in extreme pain to have used the restroom 2X on the ruck. We had time to do 2 sets of stairs and squats (25 SC). In all we covered 3.5 miles.
It was a pleasure and an ideal way to start the day. We live in a beautiful place. Don’t forget it.
No announcements for today and YHC took us out in prayer.
Thanks for letting me lead today Buttoncap. I have to figure out how to put Buoy on slack but he is terrible with computers. BTW, Buoy is a dog
Did the FNG cover it like a cat?
not really a full bury but he did kick some sand on it
