The cold wind kept the shovel flag pointing straight out to the south this morning. Only one minute till a hard start remained, as the Q rolled back in from a little recon standard. After a mission statement that including an additional random word, Purple rain threw out a request to stay behind the high school gym to get a little relief from the wind. The request was granted, and so the workout started out with an Omaha! We had a short mosey around the parking lot and then pinned up on the southside of the gym for a little warmarama: plyometrics consisted of high knees, Sidestep both ways, Frankenstein‘s, and hip openers, with 2 Burpee‘s in between each lap. The Warm-up continued with windmills, girl fights, Single leg Roman deadlifts, and single leg alternating shoulder taps.
We then moseyed to the edge of the practice field for a little partner work using Pasqually’s leaning tower. Partner one would jailbreak across the field and complete either five pull-ups or a 10 second bent arm hang. Partner two completed a revolving cycle of 10 count Merkens, plank jacks, and alternating lunges. This circuit was completed three times, with some serious modifications of the pull-ups. I think many of the pax feet never left the ground 🤔 but, you know, modify as needed in F3. Sparkles was the only smart one to utilize the ladder for pull-ups instead of trying to hold the “leaning tower of Pasqually” platform.
Back to the starting line for three cycles of: 10 Broadjump’s, 10 star jumps, and backpedal to the start. We then mosey back to the wind-blocker wall for two rounds of wall plank walk ups IC, hand release Merkens IC, and those dreaded prisoner-ups IC, With a parking lot palate cleanser in between. More serious “modifications” were done at the wall 🤔. Birdman made his best attempt at mumblechatter, and the Q made his best attempt to ignore. At this time, Maytag crouched on the ground in what appeared to be an intense prayer to Allah. Unsure if his back was hurt, He was horribly out of breath, or someone kicked him in the balls,… he persuaded us to carry-on.
We then mosey through the dark Corredor of “ankle-sprain land”, over to the hill of CHS. We partnered up again for some Dora. Partner one backpedaled up the hill, performed a 4 x 4, and ran back to tag out partner two. The Dora exercises were: 50 Spiderman Merkins, 100 copperhead squats, 150 low slow flutters, 200 side straddle hops. Deciding not to run back through the dark alleyway, we ran out and around the high school with a stop at the auditorium wall. There was just enough time to get in 20 donkey kicks and 20 hand release Merkens. A run back to the flag left no time for Mary. Therefore, navy did not get a chance to fart in our general direction. Oh well, maybe next time.
Count off, name a Rama, and work out announcements were made. Happy birthday kiwi!(should of Q’ed today 😉). Denver, great to see you in the west. The Q took us out in a brief prayer (so Kiwi we didn’t get upset). We lifted up a couple of F3 brothers with medical concerns, as well as navy’s father-in-law.
It was cold this morning, but we warmed up quickly. And I promise you, it was not near as cold as it was at the Rolling Stone last January when we had temperatures in the teens and snow blowing sideways. Those are some of my most memorable F3 workouts!
Thank you Snooki 🤷♂️, it was a pleasure. Thank you pax for coming out to make yourself better men.
