I think I may have scared the PAX before this Q by mentioning coupons. Perhaps it was tropical storm Michael that kept people away. I prefer to think it was the fact that I mentioned coupons, and since the PAX know I like to use them, they didn’t show.
We gathered at Swansboro Municipal Park before 5:30. Princess was there before us and was scared that the location had been changed. I assured him he was in the right place. I had a special day plan for the boys.
We started with a flawless mission statement i told everyone to head to the back of my truck to pick up their coupons, one for each hand, two nice red bricks, I could tell it was what everyone wanted. I led the PAX on a short mosey and mixed things to keep everyone on their toes, so instead of heading directly into a warm-o-rama, we did burpees. We did 5 sets of 5 burpees, so long mumble chatter! We then circled up for warm-o-rama:
25 Side Straddle Hops
15 Sun Gods (backward and forward each)
15 Cotton Pickers
15 Imperial Walkers
15 Windmills
Mosey over the parking lot with our bricks…..
I tell the PAX I invented a new exercise. I called it the 5X5. Basically, we do 5 Merkins, 5 Squats, 5 Alternating Curls, 5 Tricept Presses, and 5 Shoulder Presses, we our bricks. Then I tell them we are going to do this in all 5 corners of the square parking lot….Purplerain “how are you going to do 5 corners in a dern square parking lot?” Thanks PR, there is a secret corner, I shared it at the end. We mosey to each corner and do our each 5X5 in cadence, then we mosey to the center, the fifth corner, commence mumble chatter about “this ain’t no corner Tony Romo.”
We then did an American Hammer relay, we all lined up about arm length apart and stacked all the bricks next to Navy, we handed the bricks one by one down the line and Purplerain stacked them, then we passed them back, all while holding the V sit. Lots of moaning on this, so when I said we were doing it again, we passed two bricks at a time. Navy cleared the parking lot at this point with a toxic gas cloud.
We then ditched the bricks and took a mosey over the benches for a little DDDU (or I called it Triple D University). I think the guys were really scared at this point. Here is what we did:
First Semester of DDDU:
10 Derkins
10 Dry Docks
10 Dips
10 Urkins
Second Semester
15 Derkins
15 Dry Docks
15 Dips
15 Urkins
Third Semester
20 Derkins
20 Dry Docks
20 Dips
20 Urkins
By this time we had about 5 minutes left, we headed to the flag, did some ab work and some supermans and finished out the morning with announcements and prayers.
I am sore, I bet everyone else is too!!
