After Q’ing 2 other Boot Camp workouts in the last five days, YHC knew he had to come up with something different. Since being slack on running ever since the BRR and Florence, the desire for some miles was starting to burn. YHC’s recent bootcamp Q’s have all been “Snooki approved”, but Snooki was no where in sight, so today would be different. A plan was devised where we could get some miles in without ever leaving the parking lot. The infamous Monkey wrench had done a similar thing a few weeks ago at the hashmark, so the Q modified his idea and ran with it.
We started with a rolling warmaRama from the church across Highway 24 with a stop for 10 IC Frankenstein‘s, 10 imperial squat walkers, and 10 of the new favorites… girl fights. The Q is still on sure why he has a strange obsession with girl fights 🧐, but that’s a story for another day. We then ran to the corner of the Lowe’s parking lot to find a green cone, otherwise known as the “burpee cone”. 3 Burpee‘s were to be done every time we saw that cone. 11 stations were spread out in a large circle around Lowe’s parking lot. We would run to the first station, perform the exercise, And run back to the Burpee Cone. We would then run back to the first station, do the exercise, run to station 2 and perform that exercise, then back to the Burpee cone. We repeated this all the way through about 10 stations so there was some distance covered. The exercises included: Merkins, Mountain climbers, LBC’s, Superman‘s, copperhead squats, hello dollies, alternating shoulder taps, Star jumps, plank jacks, and hand release Merkins. The stations were set up in a circle so that a “non-runner” could cut the corner back to the Burpee cone while the gazelles kept the distance around the perimeter.
With seven minutes on the clock until a hard stop, the Q called Omaha so we could get back across the road to the flag. We were short two or three stations that would’ve completed the circle, but we managed to cover about 2.4 miles and get some full body workout in. We kept the pax together by planking for the six at every other station, and YHC was pleased that no one needed to modify the work out today. Also, because all of the counting was OYO, that left opportunity for some second F (and to make fun of pax like Maytag).
The pax were faster on the way to the flag than the Q thought, so we had a few minutes back at the flag to complete the couple of stations that we missed: Peter Parker‘s X 20, hand release Merkens X 20, and squat jumps until a hard stop. The pax worked hard today, and put in more miles than a typical Boot Camp. It is always awesome to see 2.0’s out there on a weekday morning, working out so hard. We wrapped up the morning with the count off, announcements, and prayer requests. And of course, we went out in a BOM, in prayer to our Heavenly Father. Another great Carterican morning with our F3 brothers!
