The Chicken Shack

YHC anxiously drove towards front street in the gloom wondering how many men would join me for the first expansion workout in Beaufort since it all began almost two years ago. We have had a solid group over the past few months on Tuesday and Thursday’s so we discussed adding something else during the week for the Beaufort boys. The AO name was agreed upon after Bunion gave us a history lesson on the Chicken Shack which was a long forgotten black nightclub from the 1940s and 50s that was at the 300 block of Queen Street. This place was smaller than your shed but was known to be a pretty seedy establishment in Beaufort at the time.

The tires were laid out and everyone grabbed a partner and we skipped warmarama because YHC was so excited to pull the tires and get to work. The disclaimer was given as we begin pulling tires.

First round:
Partner one pulled the tired 25 yds with a 30# sandbag, then performed 100 jumps using a jump rope then pulled the tire back. Partner two was performing Bicep curls x 20 reps, lateral raises x 20 reps each arm, 20 squats rotating through exercises until partner one returned with the tire. Three rounds were completed by each group.

Second round:
Partner one pulled tire to his feet then walked back to lengthen rope and pulled tire to his feet completing 25yds. He then turned and pulled the tire another 25yds and quickly turned around pulling the tire backwards x 50yds back to partner 2. While partner one was pulling the tire partner 2 completed circuits of tricep extensions 20 reps each arm, front raises x 20 each arm, standing rows x 20, repeating until partner one returned. This was completed two rounds each.

We then moseyed about .5 miles to the actual Chicken Shack which is on the 300 block of Queen street and moseyed back to the Dockhouse and YHC took us out in the BOM.

Great work fellas, I am so glad to see F3 growing in Beaufort and a group of guys that are enthusiastic and energized.
