So as I was huffing, puffing and wheezing my way around the track at the Dreadnought on Tuesday, Crabby Englishman invites me to Q the Stampede – clearly my strength as an athlete. Naively I said ‘Sure’, not realizing I wouldn’t sleep much Thursday worrying about how to not mess it up.
Thankfully, the bad weather mostly held off and seven of us had a ‘refreshing’ jaunt over the bridge and back. Including the Standard some did, we got in between 3.6 – 6 miles.
Circled up with Rucky Duck to finish it off – special thanks to Crabby Englishman for having my back. Then we had a good time reminiscing (sans charcoal sweet potatoes – Schroom) on what is now the annual Christmas Luncheon (Gertrude), trying to figure out how “Inviting” and HC are not the same thing (Duckbutter) and wondering why in the world would someone ever want to run 100 miles in 24 hours (Shiplap).
Don’t know about anyone else, but I had a blast.
