13 men gathered with YHC in the gloom to start the new week on the right foot. Around 5:25 YHC was beginning to wonder if Winnie and Suitcase were going to be the only ones posting. No sooner had that thought entered my mind, up rolls a fleet of (mostly white) pick up trucks. The Pax had arrived. Since YHC does not own a watch, I enlisted Gert to be our time keeper and he immediately called out the two minute warning. Winnie then announced the hard start time and with mumble chatter at elevated levels, YHC welcomed the Pax and immediately began reciting the Mission Statement. Approximately half way into the MS, YHC could barely hear himself think, let alone focus on what would have been a flawless delivery of said Statement. Realizing that things could quickly escalate, YHC ordered 3 Burpees and a mosey to Fourth St. Mumble chat levels were down but certainly not out. We moseyed to the parking lot for a little Warm-A-Rama that went something like this:

We then moseyed to 7th street,stopping at the Putt Putt course for a little bit of Masters fun.
Patrick Reed won the Masters on Sunday and he shot a final round 71. YHC prepared a score card that showed what Reed scored on each hole. So the idea was for the Pax to perform a set of Burpees S/C, Merkins S/C, LSF and SSH both I/C. The number of reps done of each exercise would equal Reed’s score on each of the 18 holes. Hole #1 is a Par 4 that Reed bogeyed so we did 5 of the above mentioned exercises. Number 2 is a par 5 which he parred so we again did 5 reps of each exercise. This pattern continued until we finished the front 9. We then commenced an Indian Run in search of the clubhouse and a cold beer but came up empty on both counts. At the turn around spot of the IR we held a one minute plank. For some reason, all but 2 or so of the Pax rose upon completion of the plank. Perhaps there was some fear that the 3 minute push up challenge was about to begin and that by rising, YHC would be distracted and forget said challenge. But no push up challenge was in store for today. YHC politely asked for everyone to get on their 6 and we did 15 WW One’s S/C. We I/R back to the putt putt course, played the back nine in the same format but changed the exercises to Squat Jumps, Diamond Merkins, Frog hops and LBC’s
After completing the back nine of Augusta National we moseyed out of the parking lot back to Evans St. and hung a left to return to the Sanitary lot. YHC called for a jail break and we raced down the street to Jacks and recovered mosey back too the parking lot. At this point Gert mentioned we still had 5 minutes left. YHC halfway jokingly asked out loud if we could knock out 71 burpees in the time we had left. YHC quickly reconsidered and decided 20 was enough. After 10, YHC had plenty and declared victory at 15. Sufficiently smoked, Jang took us out with something called a Peter Parker Plank (??)…..don’t ask. It was painful.
We circled up and asked for announcements and prayer requests. Jang mentioned that this Sunday, the 15th was the Ducks Unlimited Greenwing Day at Munden Farms. Check slack for more info. Big Mic asked for prayer requests for one of his co-workers that had a relative that needs prayers uplifted.
This workout was not the most challenging we have ever done. But being a golf fan, I thought it might be fun to do something different that would key off the fourth round of this years Masters. And it’s not easy to come up with a boot camp workout that was derived from golf scores!
Thanks to all that attended. if I happen to Q a workout next year on the Monday after the Masters, I already have it planned. We’ll go with the highest score posted by any contestant for any round. Be forewarned: Some of the amatures as well as the pros can shoot 80 plus. You have 52 weeks to prepare!
