My original plan was to do part of the work-out today on the tennis courts, so that was the only reason I gave the teaser “Tennis anyone?” in the pre-blast. Then Site Q, Ricardo, became intrigued by what was in store, so I figured I would actually have to come up with a work-out incorporating a game I have not played since 1999 (and even then I was terrible at it). I found two 20 year old cheap Wilson rackets in my garage, but no tennis balls, so I borrowed some from Dipper (I think he gave me the ones he throws for his dog, Piper).  Here is how it went:

WARMARAMA

We moseyed to the well-lighted Ft. Benjamin tennis courts for . . .

SSHs 15 IC, CPs 15 IC, Sun Gods 15 IC forward & 15 reverse, Imperial Walkers 10 IC, Merkin’s Dog (10 merkins SC, downward dog stretch, 10 more merkins)

THING ONE – CATCH ME IF YOU CAN

After a short mosey to the east end of the road south of the park, we partnered up. One ran backwards while the other did 3 burpees before catching his partner. We did this all the way to the end of the road. On the way back it was the same, except we did 5 merkins instead of the burpees.

THING TWO – TENNIS

Each of us had one serve. If the serve was in, we ran two down and backs to the fence. If the serve was out we all had to do burpee broad jumps to the other side and back.  Three of us missed (including YHC) and three got their serves in, maybe.  I thought Birdman’s was out, but after he did this to me

I lied and agreed with him that it was in.

THING THREE – DORA

Back in the parking lot, the exercises were 100 merkins, 200 squats, 300 LBCs and 400 air presses.

THING FOUR – PICNIC TABLES

We moseyed to the picnic tables for Dips, Derkins and Irkins (20 SC each). We were supposed to do three rounds, but ran out of time, so we only got in one round.
