YHC received a message from Blart on Thursday if I would CoQ because he something special planned, I said sure with excitement.  Next day he notified me that he had to work and could I do it on my own.  I said of course I will, so the bait and switch went off without a hitch and I was ready to go for the Q.

I arrived early to see Ladybug and an FNG that happen to be Ladybugs future son-in-law (Sydney from Brooklyn, of course we had to name him Red Sock).  I jogged over to put some coupons out and the PAX kept coming.  I was feeling motivated and nostalgic for my old football days due to the awesome fall weather. 17 PAX total

We moseyed over to the field for some warmarama:

Seal Claps ic x20 (I let Snookie know this would be the closest we would get to seal crawls on this Saturday work out)

Goof Balls ic x15 (The look on Red Socks face at this excercise was priceless, Goof Ball fits it perfectly)

We had received rain and there was a lot of dew on the ground and I could tell the guys were wondering how wet we would get.  I decided to do an excercise that consisted of laying on your back and then rolling over and recover.  Suffeciently wet we moseyed over for The Thang.

Thang 1:

I let everyone know how much I loved football and every practice was started out with sprints.

100 yard sprint 20 LBCs mosey back

80 yard sprint 20 LBCs mosey back (continued with 60, 40, 20). PAX did awesome.

Thang 2:

Time for some 11s with Spider Merkins and Squats 20 yard sprints in between.

Thang 3:

Mosey to baseball field and count off by 4s, it was time for Field of Dreams, team with most cycles gets free coffee

5 burpees, 20 squats, 10 merkins, 15 Monkey Humpers, a certain team one that will not be named as there were many grumbles that some cheating may have been involved.  I did not see any so maybe some sore losers!  We all loved it.

Thang 4:

Mosey over to the other baseball field and it was time for a new I learned from Squid the day before which almost made me break.

4×4 (Basically it is a burpee with 4 merkins and 4 mountain climbers while down)  We were going to do 10, these once again kicked my butt and we took a break and number 5, Laettner helped me with the count on a couple but we succeeded in doing all 10.  Snookie decided to do some extra credit and do 8 merkins each time.

Thang 5:

Mosey back to football field and asked the guys how do end each football practice, sprints of course, so we did a repeat of Thang 1.  The football nostalgia was really hitting me so I was really talking of the iron sharpens iron talk.  I appreciate the guys indulging my probably over the top cheese ball encouragement on this particular day.


We moseyed around to pick up the cones and over to the next field and did PAX choice on Mary, cannot remember them all.  Ended with a sprint back to the flags and Hard Stop.

I was so pleased that so many showed up today.  I really do get nostalgic this time of year about football and being apart of a team.  I realized that during HS football days we pep talk each other for what ultimately was just a game and now we are pushing our teammates to be better at what really matters: LIFE.  BETTER MEN, BETTER HUSBANDS, BETTER FATHERS, BETTER LEADERS, BETTER CHRISTIANS, ETC….  Thanks for letting me lead you guys on this most awesome day.
