In the beautiful gloom this morning the pax gathered at the public lot across from the Channel Marker restaurant. The pax was pulling in and Deebo came rolling in with Rooney! Estatic to see a familiar face at a new AO the pax warmly greeted Rooney. YHC was led to believe that Rooney was hanging out with Deebo last night and Deebo offered to give Rooney a ride home but ended up bringing him to the Stampede instead. As we approached start time I briefed the pax on the route today. After giving an abbreviated disclaimer and mission statement I led the pax headed North over the bridge towards Morehead. Over we went turning around and heading South back to the beach. Toward the circle, around the circle and past the overnight parked cars outside of the Tackle Box Tavern or TBT to its prestigious members. Also disturbing the local police as they were trying to look at the inside of their eyelids, as they made a quick getaway. Back down the causeway we went. My new name for the causeway is snowflake lane as every light pole had a lit docarations in the shape of snowflakes. They emitted just enough light in the gloom looking down the causeway to be my yellow brick road. As the pax returned back to the base of the bridge some pax pulled in to the lot to stretch as they hit their goal of the day and others continued up and over the bridge again and then back to the flag. The mileage logged was:
Knotty Head, Hillary, Ramses, Madoff, Gertrude, T-Gum, Crabby E – 5 miles
Deebo, Rooney, Bayliner – just over 4 miles
T-Claps to Rooney for posting at the Stampede and logging some solid mileage!
