YHC was ecstatic that we we able to enjoy some incredible weather today with temps and humidity in the 60’s. YHC knew we would have a strong showing of PAX from off so the pressure was on to come up with something good.
After a single burpee for a slightly tardy linus we moved straight through mission statement to warmarama.
Down dog with pedals to Cobra, Runners stretch, Michael Phelps IC x 10, Squat Jack’s IC x 10, Hillbilly squats, IC x 10, Hairy Rockettes IC x 10.
Then we moved to the running path and split into two lines for a Scout run down the path to the traffic circle in the middle of HWY 58. We planted the flags and circled up in the middle of Hwy 58! Pax were warned that we were in one of the most visible spots on the island and form should have military precision. With civilians cheering us on from the adjacent parking lots we did a bearkin ring of fire and 6 count burpees together. The PAX did well and made F3 proud.
Next we moseyed over to Heaverly rd and did a catch me if you can with 4x4s to the beach access.
We planted one flag at the entrance and another at the top of the sand dunes. YHC had picked this entrance in particular because it had such a high dune which meant lots of steps. We proceeded to do a six pack with squats at the top of the dune and mountain climbers at the bottom.
Out onto the beach for the journey back to the Western Beach access. On the way back we stopped every .10 of a mile (on the dot) to complete Jack webs using a series of shoulder burners YHC found called “no gear military shoulder workout”. It consisted of “Y” presses, we’re not worthies, front and lateral raises, speed plank raises and seal merkins. We did 4, 8, & 12 IC of each as we stopped.
Back at the Western access we planted two flags about 25 yards apart parallel to the waterline. Pax partnered up for DORA of 50 surfer burpees, 100 squats and 150 LBCs. The running partner had to run down the beach to the far flag, out to knee deep and back in a square finishing at his partner.
After that, the PAX deserved a rest so YHC allowed a 3 min frolic in the ocean. 🏊♂️
Back up through the soft sand and past the beach yoga ladies 👀 to the pavilion for two rounds of picnic table dead lifts & curls, step ups and box jumps. All IC x 10.
Run back to the flag for a hard stop at exactly 0800 by YHCs watch. We named the FNG who was visiting with the PAX from Btown. He was a trooper given that he was so rowdy in the hot tub last night that the police came. Btw, it was all guys in the hot tub….just saying. His name, “hoser” based on the fact he is a firefighter barely beat out “sausagefest”. 🍆

What an incredible morning gents. It’s hard not to feel blessed when you get to hang out with friends on Sat morning like this. Thank you for letting me kick off the Summer birdman!
